A Damn Good Article

No, I mean that.

It's like when a guy friend of yours comes up to you and says, "Dude, Captain Capitalism, I met this TOTALLY HOT BABE! You got to meet her."

And then you meet her and she is nothing really attractive.

No, this article REALLY is a hot babe.

Must read.

Do it.

Now!

Reading is manditory.

There will be ramifications for your failure to read.

A Communist government uses the banking system to prop up pseudo-market reforms that favour the party? Say it ain't so Captain!

One does wonder how much longer the party can maintain control as more and more of their citizens become western educated.

Also, how much of the double diget growth has been overstated? Too bad the data is all being manipulated.

However, there is a study by world bank that you can check at following link.

http://www-wds.worldbank.org/servlet/WDSContentServer/WDSP/IB/1993/06/01/000009265_3970128104906/Rendered/INDEX/multi0page.txt

The study focused on five former British colonies, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malta, Jamaica, Mauritius.

Only Hong Kong and Singapore developed into developed countries status despite of their lack of resources compared to other colonies. However, Hong Kong and Singapore have very different style of Govements.

Although Hong Kong and Singapore are often linked as East Asian
export-oriented "miracle" economies, the study shows how different the
development strategies have been beneath the surface. Only Hong Kong
approximates the laissez-faire ideal, but even here there has been exten-
sive government control of land use and provision of public housing.
The Singaporean govermnent, by contrast, has intervened extensively to
promote domestic saving and to channel investment (largely by foreign
multinational companies) into certain sectors, while providing generous
physical and social infrastructure to induce this direct foreign invest-
ment, which is the mainstay of production and exports.

Basically, a Chinese society, once given freedom of capitalism, would develop no matter what sort of govement there.
