Ego Superceding the Cause

Remember the post I had a while ago about how leftists don't particularly care about helping the poor, or eliminating disease in Africa, because what is really driving them, what their ulterior motive is, is that they want to feel good about themselves but without putting forth the hard work and effort that would actually result in a tangible benefit to society?

"Hi, I'm Al Gore, and I'm irrelevant now, but my ego needs masterbation."

Get your ass in academia you has-been.

First off you are only in part correct. What pushes the extreme left is a desire to have people the ycan say they are helping. It has nothing to do with feeling good as it has to do with others telling them they do good. Asking an extreme left to end say hunger, is like asking Bill Gates to find a society with no need for computers. Please oh please put yourself out of business.

Second off the term "acadamia" is getting abused, just because you are working for some university, does not make you some noble creature, does not make you somehow special, it just makes you the next person distorting the views of the next generation. oh, and poor.

"(Gore) said President George W Bush had missed an opportunity after 11 September terrorist attacks to declare that the US should be independent of oil and coal."

LOL, that's a good way to fight terrorism! Let's immediately sabotage our own economy while we try to fight a war.

Geez, can you imagine if Gore was President, what would that speech have looked like?
"My fellow Americans, we have been attacked. I would like to show those terrorists we mean business by immediately nationalizing our oil and coal interests and dismantling them. For the next several years Americans must find their own way to light their homes. The government will provide free candles and subsidize bicycle manufacturers. Cutting down trees to make fires to heat your homes is strictly forbidden, however. The terrorists may take our lives, but they'll never take our ozone layer!"
