Looking back on my life so far, I think "I should have been more willing to call other people stupid to their face in public."

I should have shown less respect to those who aren't worth of any, and more spite for people who don't know anything about economics but presume to have economic opinions anyway.

I should have played more video games and watched more anime. Well, I have a week's worth of paid vacation time off from work, so it's time to start making up on lost time. Let the gaming/anime marathon begin!

Isn't that the lesson of life in general, to enjoy your time while you're here???

And is it just my imagination, or did that sound like some of Johnny Cash's early stuff??

Not my eternal soul.

But Barack Obama gives me hope that this will change.

It came to me the other day:
Were I to die, no one would say,
"Oh, what a shame! So young, so full
Of promise — depths unplumbable!"
Instead, a shrug and tearless eyes
Will greet my overdue demise;
The wide response will be, I know,
"I thought he died a while ago."
For life's a shabby subterfuge,
And death is real, and dark, and huge.
The shock of it will register
Nowhere but where it will occur.
